Justice for J6 - Rally on the National Mall by Chris Suspect

Many would say the Justice for J6 rally on the National Mall was a bust, but if you went there to shoot the spectacle of the media it wasn't so bad. For every protestor and counter protestor there had to have been 2 people from the media and 3 police for each!

New Exhibit in Partnership with WhiteWall at Photopia in Hamburg, Germany by Chris Suspect

I am excited to announce that I will have an exhibit in partnership with WhiteWall at Photopia - The Festival of Imaging in Hamburg, Germany, September 23-26.

The exhibit consists of 19 images I have photographed over the past 10 years from various projects, events and random situations I have come across on the streets. The above graphics showcase how the exhibit will be laid out over 3 1/2 walls. The curator did an exemplary job with the layout and tying the work together, marrying different sizes, color and black and white photographs into a cohesive thread is no easy feat.

While I would love to be there in person in Germany, I am unable to make it overseas during the pandemic at this point. If you are in Germany or going to Photopia please stop by and check it out. And if you can, take a few pictures and send them to me.

SPM Podcast - Chris Suspect Shoots the Insurrection by Chris Suspect

This past Friday I was a guest on the popular Street Photography Magazine podcast in which host Bob Patterson interviewed me about my experience photographing the Capitol Riot. In this conversation not only do I discuss my experience but I also provide some tips on shooting these kinds of tense situations and whether or not photos from these events should be handed over to law enforcement.

We also talk about my upcoming show at DC's hottest new gallery called Bad Candy which will be up during the month of November into December. And, we went over the process for the making of Beyond the Frame, the short documentary about me and my photography by filmmaker Tim Huynh.

Finally we closed with some details about my upcoming workshop for Day of the Dead in Mexico and I drop some hints about a new book for the end of 2021 from the DC Street Photography Collective.
